Patch 1.4 Now Live on All Platforms
27 August 2026, Patch Notes:
A no-clip zone inside Bruce's Discovery Center has been located. Can you escape into Overgrowth or succumb to the suffocating sea of spheres?

- Added Level 421 (Plastic Mariana), alongside two new entities and an entity variant.
Multiplayer & Networking::
- Fixed a soft lock that could occur when repeatedly pressing the confirm button while joining a lobby on Switch 2.
- Fixed a soft lock that could occur when joining a Steam-hosted lobby on Switch 2.
- Fixed an issue where lobby codes were not working across platforms, which could cause friends to appear offline or fail to connect.
- Fixed a crash that occurred when creating a Story Mode or Hub lobby on PS5 while the console was in Offline Mode after a fresh boot.
- Fixed an issue on PS5 where blocking a player didn't stop them from communicating with you in the lobby or during gameplay.
- Fixed an issue where the host instantly died on Hard difficulty if another player quits the session.
- Fixed a bug that lets players access private lobbies they hadn't been invited to.
- Fixed an issue that caused players to fall through the world when joining a lobby with Level 188 already in progress, if the level was on the upper floor.
- Fixed the host not being able to see late-joining players in the top-left player list during gameplay.
Levels & World:
- Fixed an issue that caused a microphone echo when using the push to talk option.
- Fixed an issue where players could get out of bounds or temporarily soft-locked while interacting with the ladder in Level 37.2.
- Fixed an issue where players could get stuck behind the couch on the staircase in Thalassophobia.
- Fixed a soft lock caused by jumping onto a specific pole at the end of Thalassophobia.
- Fixed an issue where players were getting trapped inside the cage with the Fletcher in Darkened Suburbs.
- Fixed an issue where players were trapping themselves by infinitely “falling” into a bathtub in Darkened Suburbs.
- Fixed an issue where wooden crates became permanently stuck when pushed into certain corners of the first castle room in Level 94.
- Fixed a soft lock caused by jumping on a table in the first part of Terror Hotel.
- Fixed a soft lock that could occur when pressing “F” immediately after solving the padlock puzzle in Terror Hotel.
- [Xbox] Fixed an issue where Xbox players were unable to interact with the Arcade Machine, which blocked them from reaching the Arcade ending.
Controls & UI:
- Improved performance issues caused by Water VFX in Abandoned Base.
- Fixed a soft lock caused by losing controller input in game menus on Switch 2.
- Fixed the cursor becoming invisible after returning from the Esc menu during a screen-click scene.

Crashes:
- Fixed an issue that caused a crash to occur after idling for an extended period of time in the HUB.
- Resolved an issue that caused a crash when selecting “Cancel” whilst joining a multiplayer session that the host left.
Matchmaking:
- Temporarily removed the shown “ping” from the lobby list. Dev Note: The ping shown was inaccurate and causing confusion. We have temporarily removed this while we investigate the cause and will reintroduce when we’ve fixed the issue.

- Fixed an issue that caused the same platform player icons to appear as the cross-platform icon in the lobby.

- Resolved an issue that could cause the game to hang temporarily when in a loading screen.
- Fixed an issue that would occur after being invited to a lobby with all slots occupied, preventing the player from being able to join any other lobby.
Voice Chat:
- Fixed an issue that caused a microphone echo when using the push to talk option.
- Fixed an issue that caused a player to lose the ability to communicate over voice comms after initially loading into the game.
- Fixed an issue that prevented the output of audio in any area when connecting a headset while the game is running.
- Fixed an issue that prevented voice chat from functioning for one of the users during active gameplay in a multiplayer session with three players.
- Fixed an issue that would cause the last player that is eliminated in a session to lose audio after being transitioned back to the lobby.
Level Specific:
- Fixed an issue that caused the host to be unable to see Wretch in Part 2 of Level 9 after level restart, blocking progression.
- Fixed an issue that allowed player to grab key card from the Wretch's Cage in the MEG Basement when using a controller.
- Improved performance issues caused by Water VFX in Abandoned Base.
Additional Changes:
- Resolved missing translation for critical sanity loss moments in Polish.

- Fixed an issue with input gain setting that caused volume to be louder than intended.

- Fixed an issue that caused the game to get stuck in a loading screen.
- Fixed a softlock that was caused by joining a cross-platform lobby while it is in-progress and returning to the lobby.
- Fixed an issue that caused a crash when accepting invites on Xbox platforms.
