The Live Ops Product Marketing Manager will lead the live ops marketing function, formulating best in class marketing operations and campaigns including Beta testing through launch and events working in lockstep with the development team.
 
The successful candidate will work with game developers to align with their visions and the management of each individual project to ensure it delivers its highest potential as well as being responsible for the successful delivery of all titles within the GAAS/FTP model.
 
As part of the larger marketing organization, this position reports to the VP of Publishing Strategy and works very closely with other marketing channel owners and the game team on cross-functional initiatives, as the point person for strategy and execution for live ops marketing.

Please note, this role is on-site and based out of our studio in Leamington Spa, UK.

In your new role you will:

  • Be responsible for delivery of our GAAS & FTP titles coming to market and managing post-launch.
  • Research, create and own the product marketing plan for both internally and externally developed games within the GAAS/FTP model. Be confident in defining and communicating product positioning, target market & player analysis, competitor analysis and the go-to-market strategy.
  • Have ownership of user acquisition and work with the developers of each title to ensure the best UA strategies are in place and matching with their KPIs and requirements. Experience of UA for console and PC titles is desired.
  • A passion and demonstrated knowledge of the games industry including FTP and Live service games, product trends and market trends, competitor analysis, product functionality, opportunities and potential risks. A clear knowledge of the games industry calendar, events and seasonal release/promotional opportunities.
  • Manage the execution of marketing plans across all channels working in alignment and with clear communication to the Production, QA, Operations, Launch and Marketing teams at Secret Mode.
  • Manage the marketing budget spend per title and overall, for the FTP pillar with sign off from the VPs and board, ensuring delivery of activity on time and on budget with a consistent drive of traffic into the core funnel pushing players to the game.
  • Work with game developers to present the title’s marketing strategy and if needed make a case for improving the games to align with the marketing vision, consulting the Producers and QA team for the title when necessary.
  • Manage internal and external relationships with game developers, colleagues and industry contacts.
  • Track and analyse KPIs and marketing metrics and report to the leadership team; using findings to optimise and improve ongoing and future marketing campaigns.
  • Potential for business travel representing Secret Mode at trade and consumer events.
  • To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 3+ years of related experience in Marketing, Mobile, PC or Console Games within FTP or GaaS titles.
  • In-depth knowledge of live operations marketing best practices; specifically social media, community, email and push notification marketing.
  • Proven track record of launching FTP or Racing games.
  • Experience creating live operations marketing plans, considering event roadmaps, lifecycle marketing and social media impact. 
  • Confident in using Outlook, SharePoint, Microsoft programs (Publisher, PowerPoint, One Note).
  • A high level of motivation and proactivity, with the ability to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement and have the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative team environment.
  • Collaborator who brings other stakeholders on board with ideas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects, work at pace and deliver content to deadline.
